Call for papers
We would like to inform you that the 2nd International Scientific and Technical Conference "Beauty in Architecture: Harmony of Place" will be held on May 13-14, 2021 at the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa. The detailed topics of the conference will concern the conditions for shaping, experiencing and understanding a place from an architectural, urban, artistic, sociological and philosophical perspective. The interdisciplinary nature of the conference will foster mutual cooperation between scientists and practitioners, aiming at getting to know and improving the shaping of the space of the human life environment. Papers will be published in monographs issued by the State Scientific Publishers and Peter Lang Verlag.
The duration of the presentation is 15 minutes, which will allow for a discussion and, during the accompanying events, an experiment of practicing, perceiving the impact of specific public spaces, which are considered by their users to be harmoniously shaped and characterized by the value of beauty. Thus, the organizers want to strengthen the practical dimension of the conference, which will be the basis and context for making theoretical generalizations.
We would like to ask you to send proposals for papers and articles in English or Polish by 30/10/2020 to the address beautyinarchitecture@pans.nysa.pl.
The abstract should contain the title of the speech, description of the content not exceeding 300 words, and the author's data (name and surname, academic degree / title, institutional affiliation). We ask (without interfering with the creative contribution of the speaker) that your papers and speeches try to answer why and how specific spaces evoke feelings of harmony and beauty, and what premises (objective, cultural, individual) determine the existence of harmony of the place.
The most important dates/deadlines:
until October 30, 2020 - abstract submission (abstract template),
by November 10, 2020 - information on the acceptance of the proposal for a speech, sending the authors editorial requirements and the formatting template for the article,
until January 30, 2021 - submission of articles,
May 13-14, 2021 - scientific conference and accompanying events,
until December 31, 2021 - publication of monographs.

Participation with publication - 75 Euro / 300 PLN
