Yoga workshops for all: children, youths, adults and elder people took place on 21 June 2016, during celebrations of International Yoga Day in Nysa.
The events was organized for the first time in our city and University by Polish Desk of the EuroIndia Centre, in cooperation with International Cooperation Office and Institute of Cosmetology of UAS in Nysa, with the aim to promote healthy lifestyle and physical activity, as well as rich heritage of Indian culture. In 4 yoga sessions participated everyone: kindergarten and primary school children, middle secondary school pupils, students and academic staff of the University and Nysa's inhabitants. Despite being organized for the first time, the celebrations of International Yoga Day gained a great interest of people and became very successful.
The event was another initiative of the Polish Desk of the EuroIndia Centre to promote and disseminate Indian culture in our city and region. Born in India centuries ago, yoga is an universal way to improve and maintain one's health, inner peace, discipline and balance of body and mind. Because of its great popularity and healthful impact, 21th of June was announced by United Nations Organization in 2014 as International Yoga Day. Since then, it is celebrated successfully all around the world, including Poland, and now - Nysa as well.
