On the 25th of June, the team of Polish Desk of the EuroIndia Centre in Nysa visited students of Primary School No. 3 in Nysa to conduct thematic workshops about Indian Culture.
Artistic classes, short quiz about India as well as the presentation concerning basic information about India, main festivals of Hinduism, Hindi language, traditional Indian clothing, Bollywood film industry and other topics were parts of the workshops.
Other than that, children learned how to introduce yourself in Hindi language and had their names written in Hindi. They also had an occasion to sing a song from Bollywood movie, as well as see and try on Indian jewellery and traditional garments, such as saree and salwar kameez. Everything was accompanied by great fun and happy atmosphere .
Despite the Primary School No. 3 in Nysa, with our thematic workshops and lessons about Indian culture we visited already Gimnazjum nr 1, Gimnazjum nr 2 (1st and 2nd Junior High Schools in Nysa) and Diecezjalne Gimnazjum i Liceum Humanistyczne (Diocese Lower Secondary School and Humanities Secondary School in Nysa).
The main aim of this initiative is to familiarize students, pupils and children with the vast, rich, colorful and intriguing Indian culture. By our activities we want to awake in students an interest towards this beautiful country.
